Online and On Campus Apprenticeships

The Need for Flexibility

Uxbridge College & Harrow College have worked in partnership with Mindful Education to create a suite of flexible Online and On Campus apprenticeships apprenticeships that combine online learning with face-to-face classroom sessions.

Employers

Investment in staff training is key for any successful organisation. Apprenticeships offer a great opportunity to upskill your workforce. However, apprenticeship delivery is not without its challenges. That's why we partnered with Mindful Education to create our flexible Online and On Campus apprenticeships to minimise disruption at workplace.

Apprentices

If you are looking to combine work and study, an apprenticeship is a great option. Our Online and On Campus apprenticeships have been designed with busy apprentices in mind. The blend of online learning and classroom sessions requires less time in college than traditional apprenticeships, minimising disruption to your work and home life.

List of Online and On Campus Apprenticeships

Online and On Campus – the best of both worlds

Online  video lectures are available on demand, and can be viewed from a phone, tablet or computer. Lessons last for around 45 minutes and are accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life. Online study means that apprentices do not need to attend college as frequently as with traditional delivery models.

On campus, apprentices benefit from regular college classes. Experienced college tutors will discuss and reinforce key learning points from online study and are on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Time out of the workplace is reduced thanks to the online learning materials.

The Apprenticeship Levy

Employers with an annual wage bill of over £3 million are required to pay the levy at 0.5% each month. Your levy fund, plus additional government funding, can then be accessed for training and assessment on approved apprenticeship schemes. Find out more.

Managing the 20% Off-the-job Training Requirement

All apprenticeships, regardless of how they are funded, require the apprentice to spend a minimum of 20% of their apprenticeship on training. But this does not have to mean that apprentices spend one day in every five out of the workplace.

The Online and On Campus apprenticeship model provides greater flexibility as apprentices can log in to study during quiet periods at work. All activity is recorded and counts towards the 20% off-the-job requirement.

Employer Testimonial

“Mindful Education’s accounting apprenticeship has been great for our business. The online learning element means our apprentice is able to log on at any time to study, the analytics allow us to easily track and report on the 20% off-the-job requirement.”

What I like about the Mindful course is that the learning materials are online. So if I get some spare time at work I ask my manager if i can do some college study and because it’s flexible and easy to access I just go on the website and continue my studies. I also have a tutor, and he can help me out and help me to progress..”
